Watch: President Duterte Shops at Greenbelt Again, Treated Like Rock Star (Video)

As the world knows, President Rodrigo Duterte is always being treated like a rock star everywhere he goes. And despite all the controversies and criticisms against his leadership, his millions of followers do not seem to be bothered. Below is a classic example, where the president went shopping at Greenbelt, Makati on Saturday night, May 5.

On the Facebook video uploaded by a certain Angel Abella, President Duterte can be seen being flocked by Greenbelt 5 mall shoppers and all of them were very eager to have a selfie with him. Aside from the Presidential Security Group (PSG) agents, there were also mall security guards who are all in smiles as they protect the president.

You can also see President Duterte giving some of the mall shoppers a chance to have a selfie with him, and treated him like a rock star. And yes, this surely gives the PSG some nightmares. But as usual, the tough-talking president does not seem to be concern about his safety, because he knows people are very excited just to see him.

Incidentally, TV host Daphne Oseña-Paez was also at Greenbelt 5 that time and took a video of President Duterte on posted it on her Twitter account. This time, the president was inside Jaeger-LeCoultre, a luxury watch store. A huge group of mall shoppers stopped by to have a glance at the president, while the PSG stood in front of the store.

At one point, you can hear girls screaming and a woman in the escalator asking, “Do we have a celebrity?” and Daphne replied, “It’s President Duterte!” The crowd was so noisy screaming his name so he cannot be heard what he was saying. Nevertheless, he appears to be talking to his PSG members as he stood by near the door of the store.

And yes, this is not the first that President Duterte was seen shopping at Greenbelt 5 unannounced to the media. Last December 4, he took a brief break from work and shopped at the same mall along with Special Assistant to the President Bong Go. That time, he bought a bag from American brand Tumi, suited for his gun magazines. is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for website owners to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to amazon(.com,, .ca etc) and any other website that may be affiliated with Amazon Service LLC Associates Program.
