Good news, Spice Girls fans! It’s official! The long wait is over, as the five female members Posh, Ginger, Baby, Sporty and Scary have already confirmed a Spice Girls reunion. This is after the group had a meeting at Ginger’s house in London, along with their former manager, Simon Fuller. Below is the Spice Girls’ official statement.
“We have enjoyed a wonderful afternoon catching up and reminiscing about the amazing times we have spent together. We are always overwhelmed at how much interest there is across the whole world for the Spice Girls.” The Spice Girls said via their official Facebook page Friday, February 2, along with their latest photo together.
“The time now feels right to explore some incredible new opportunities together. We all agree that there are many exciting possibilities that will once again embrace the original essence of The Spice Girls while reinforcing our message of female empowerment for future generations.” The 90s phenomenal British girl group added. The Spice Girls did not confirm if they will hold a reunion concert or will release a new album and tour. Nevertheless, there are rumors that they appear on TV in China, a new talent show, a second greatest hits compilation and a wide variety of endorsement deals. The group is reportedly to receive a whopping £10m (or roughly $14.1 million) each.
Spice Girls, which was formed in 1994, are known for huge hits such as “Wannabe,” “Viva Forever,” “2 Become 1,” “Stop,” “Spice Up Your Life,” “Say You’ll Be There,” and “Mama.” The group has sold over 85 million records worldwide, making them the best-selling female group of all time, and one of the best-selling pop groups of all time.
