63 Visa Free Countries for Philippines, Based on 2018 Visa Restrictions Index (Complete List)

Filipino travellers can now visit 63 countries without applying for a visa, according to immigration and citizenship firm Henley & Partners. According to the recent release of its newly released 2018 Visa Restrictions Index, Philippines is now on the 72nd spot, which is 3 steps higher than its 75th spot in 2017, then having only 61 visa-free countries.

As of January 1, 2018, Germany is the top country on the list, having the most powerful passport with visa-free access to 177 countries, followed by Singapore with visa-free access to 176 countries. On the third spot with 175 visa-free countries are Denmark, Finland, France, Italy, Japan, Norway, Sweden, and the United Kingdom (UK).

Austria, Belgium, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Switzerland, and Spain landed on the fourth spot with 174 visa-free countries. The United States (US), Portugal and South Korea are in fifth place with 173 countries to travel without needing a visa. On the other hand, Pakistan, Syria, Iraq and Afghanistan have the lowest number, 30 or below.

“The need for visa-free travel access is greater than ever. Across the economic spectrum, individuals want to transcend the constraints imposed on them by their country of origin and access business, financial, career, and lifestyle opportunities on a global scale.” Henley & Partners President Dr Christian H Kalin said in a statement.

“The Henley Passport Index shows individuals where they lie on the spectrum of global mobility, revealing the strength that their passport has in relation to other passports,” he added, noting that that most countries on the 2018 index maintained their access as compared to results in 2017. The Philippines is one of the 143 countries that improved their rank. Meanwhile, Philippine passport holders can now enjoy travelling to 17 countries and territories in Asia, 20 in Africa, 10 in Oceania, 8 in the Americas, 5 in the Caribbean and 3 countries in the Middle East.
